D&D Tiny Adventures: Sins of the Saltmarsh

The adventure begins . . .
Nara Swiftwood sets off into Hornfang Forest to investigate the sinister secret of the mutant monsters.
Encounter 1: Forest(Traps)
Nara Swiftwood was following a trail through the woods when her foot was violently yanked out from under her. Her body followed, and she was suddenly upside down, swaying back and forth from a tree branch. Then goblins with big sticks emerged from the woods.
Nara Swiftwood made an Armor Class check with a difficulty of 26 . . . and rolled 18
The goblins took turns trying to smash Nara Swiftwood with sticks while cackling jokes to each other. They were quite successful too, which did not feel good to Nara Swiftwood. Eventually, she reached out with her Rusty Dagger and stabbed one of the goblins in the face. Their tone instantly changed and they scurried away from their dangerous prey. This gave Nara Swiftwood plenty of time to free herself.
Nara Swiftwood took 6 damage.
Nara Swiftwood received 20 XP and 4 gold.

Encounter 2: Forest
Climbing a tree to get a better view, Nara Swiftwood met a goblin . . . in the tree! The equally surprised goblin tried to explain what he was doing there.
Nara Swiftwood made a Wisdom check with a difficulty of 12 . . . and rolled 17
The goblin's story was ridiculous and full of holes. Nara Swiftwood was on to him right away and, when the creep subtly reached for his dagger, Nara Swiftwood was more than ready to defend herself. It was awfully nice of the goblin to bring his valuables all the way up into this tree with him.
Nara Swiftwood received 55 XP and 3 gold.

Encounter 3: Forest
Nara Swiftwood was getting tired of walking along the seemingly endless road through the forest when she heard a horse approaching. Hoping to hitch a ride, she struck up a conversation as the man approached.
Nara Swiftwood made a Charisma check with a difficulty of 12 . . . and rolled 15
The rider was glad to meet a friendly adventurer and even happier to have the company of such a charming traveler on the lonely road. They rode together on the horse for several miles before their paths diverged at a fork in the road. For Nara Swiftwood, it was also pleasant company and even more so pleasant to get off her feet for a while.
Nara Swiftwood gets +3 Constitution for 2 encounters.

The adventure continues . . .
Nara Swiftwood has reached the end of the forest and slipped into the salty muck of the marsh.

Encounter 4: Swamp
After a long afternoon of adventuring, Nara Swiftwood came across a family and their wagon stuck deep in the mud. They were moving to the city because the father had gotten a new job in a prominent guild.
Nara Swiftwood made a Strength check with a difficulty of 12 . . . and rolled 14
She braced herself and, with a mighty heave, freed the wagon and pushed it to a drier patch of road. The family was grateful that they had escaped the swamp before night fell. They gave Nara Swiftwood a gift for helping them on their way.
Nara Swiftwood received 46 XP and 12 gold.

Encounter 5: Swamp(Undead)
In the middle of the night, Nara Swiftwood awoke with a start to see a shambling man standing over her. The man swung a club at Nara Swiftwood without warning.
Nara Swiftwood made an Armor Class check with a difficulty of 26 . . . and rolled 21
Nara Swiftwood took the brunt of the blow but managed to roll away and crawl closer to the glowing embers of the all-but-dead fire. She grabbed a handful of kindling and threw it on the embers. They caught immediately, and Nara Swiftwood grabbed a burning stick. She bashed the zombie with the flaming stick, setting it on fire too. By morning there was little left beside bones -- and an unexpected treasure.
Nara Swiftwood took 7 damage.

Encounter 6: Swamp
Hearing the sounds of battle, Nara Swiftwood hurried toward them, remaining careful not to be seen. A group of orcs had surrounded a small party of adventurers and was closing in for the kill.
Nara Swiftwood made an Attack Bonus check with a difficulty of 16 . . . and rolled 9
Nara Swiftwood approached the nearest orc from behind and launched her attack. The brute's armor deflected the blow, the orc turned on Nara Swiftwood, and returned the blow tenfold! The other adventurers sprang into action, as several of the other orcs fell into their carefully laid traps. They thanked Nara Swiftwood for her unnecessary valor, treated her wounds, and even shared some of the orcs' treasure with her.
Nara Swiftwood took 9 damage.

Encounter 7: Final Encounter(Magic)
In the dark heart of the salt marsh, Nara Swiftwood came upon its sinister secret. As she peeked through the reeds, she saw green steam rising from a large black cauldron. Three witches dressed in wispy black rags took turns stirring the concoction heating over glowing red coals. Occasionally one of the witches would ladle some of the green broth into a bowl and place it in a cage with a wild animal. Moments after the animal drank the brew, it cried out as its body twisted into that of a horrible monster. After the first monster burst from its cage and ran off, Nara Swiftwood knew she had to put an end to this -- now!
Nara Swiftwood made an Intelligence check with a difficulty of 14 . . . and rolled 16
Nara Swiftwood had a cunning plan. She soaked her cloak in the mud, climbed a tree, and slid out onto a branch over the witches. She dropped the cloak over one of them, dropped down onto the second, and stabbed the third one with her Rusty Dagger. Back in town, the inn was abuzz with tales of Nara Swiftwood's "triple kill." She didn't spread around the story of how she had found some saucy loot in the witches' hut.
Nara Swiftwood received 115 XP and 22 gold.
