The Killoren Campaign: Ambushed but rescued

While heading off to the Killoren Settlement with the dragonborn prisoner, Leoric and Rydar spotted a monkey-like creature jumping around forest. Within minutes, more of them appeared and ambushed both the catfolk and the centaur. Rydar had to remove the wagon harness to freely manouver as Leoric already had his hands full.

These monkey-like creatures are small in size but attack in groups of five. They resemble capuchins with a tiny mouth. Even if they attack savagely, they seem intelligent to use their surroundings to get the upper hand in a fight and for catching potential prey.

Rydar did his best to defeat these monkeys. Numerous times he tried to shake them off and succeeded a few times, with one being killed off by his spear. These monkeys proved too much as Rydar as the dragon prisoner was dragged away by another group of monkeys. As for Rydar, he eventually beaten up and the monkeys celebrated their win over the centaur. Realizing defeat would happen, Leoric did he best he can to avoid capture as Rydar and the dragonborn prisoner were dragged away by the monkeys.

Hours have passed and Rydar has regained consciousness, only to find out that he is still tied up up by the same monkeys that defeated him. He also see a big number of them, surrounding him. He sees the monkeys chattering and hopping while a few of them dig a a hole in a nearby clearing. Rydar also notices their tongues coming out of their tiny mouths. It looks like the monkeys are planning to eat him! The monkeys have finished digging a hole big fit Rydar and they started dragging the centaur into it. As Rydar was all set in the hole, the monkeys started throwing fruits and leaves at him. These monkeys do have taste in eating their prey and they prepare for the final step in their cuisine: cooking their prey! The fire spreads after they have managed to create a spark by rubbing rocks continuously.

As Rydar braces to become centaur meat, a flying creature swoops down and grabs him with all his might. Draken-argas has come to the rescue! Though Rydar is safe from being sweet centaur meat, both the flying dragonborn and centaur still have to deal with the lush forest and land safely. They hit branches here and there but the were able to land safely with the reinforcements they have brought. Leoric led the force to the spot where Rydar was about to be cooked. The monkeys recognized him and reacted violently. However, these monkeys were scared as they saw Leoric's army and fled the scene as soon as possible. They were able to recover their prisoner back.

Rydar was indeed thankful that he was not abandoned, though he failed to protect the prisoner and reach the Killoren Settlement as planned. Nevertheless, Draken-argas decides to bring him along after all what has happened. Draken's group, consisting of himself, Rydar, Leroic, Hissan the Senestrian Cleric and their dragonborn pirsoner, finally made it to the Killoren Settlement where they were welcomed cautiously...
